Outernet User

Hi, enjoyed your episode. I have had an Outernet receiver up and running for a few months now. It's definitely a neat project. My biggest issue is with the $9 CHiP. It's always locking up or powering off. I'm planning to switch back to the old OS and a rpi for stability. The $9 CHiPs are now impossible to find, so the Outernet guys are working on their own dedicated hardware that includes the processor and sdr all on one board. It's currently code named Dreamcatcher. I'll try to sit down tonight when I get home and record a companion to your episode and give a full review of my experience with the Outernet.

Sounds Awesome!

When I recorded this, I was hoping someone out there who had more experience with any of these could shed some more light on them for the rest of us. I have been considering getting one of the kits, but I have to much going on right now. Looking forward to your episode!
